Getting started

No. They create one Finderwave account and use it for every server they're invited to. You never create or manage local Jellyfin accounts for them again.

Jellyfin 10.9 or newer with admin access, and a Finderwave account. For direct access you provide the networking; on relay tiers we handle it. See the setup guide.

About ten minutes: install the plugin, link your server, send an invite. The docs walk through each step.

Yes. Your users log in through the Finderwave portal on web, phone, and TV — no VPN client to install on every device.

Privacy & data

Your email, a hashed password (Argon2id), your registered devices, which servers you're invited to, login timestamps, and your encrypted MFA secret. That's the whole list — see What we store.

No. Finderwave handles the login handshake only. We have no access to your library or playback history, and we never receive it.

On the free and direct-access tiers, never — zero bytes. On relay tiers we route the encrypted stream to make remote access work, but we don't inspect, log, or store it beyond what's needed to route the connection.

No. The plugin holds a scoped access token to your server, not your Jellyfin admin credentials.

Relay & networking

On direct tiers they connect to whatever address you expose. On Pro and above, traffic routes through our relay and your home IP is never visible to end users.

A managed tunnel between your server and your users' devices. It removes the need for port forwarding, works behind CGNAT, and hides your home IP. It's the main reason people upgrade from a direct tier.

Relay tiers are governed by our Fair Use Policy, which documents guidance per tier in plain numbers. We contact you before taking any action — never a silent throttle.

Yes. The relay binary is open source under AGPL-3.0. You can run it yourself instead of using our managed edge network.

Billing & plans

Yes. It routes zero bytes through us, so it costs us nothing to sustain. No credit card, no trial clock.

25–30% depending on tier. The exact yearly price is shown on the pricing page when you flip the billing toggle.

Any time. Up when you need more users, the tunnel, or higher limits; down whenever you like. Changes are prorated.

Yes — launch offer at €79 ex VAT until 15 August 2026. It includes lifetime Pro Unlimited relay on your account, subject to the Fair Use Policy. The separate Lifetime plan (€29, 200 purchasers) is Pro-level relay, not unlimited.

Monthly plans can be cancelled any time. Annual and lifetime purchases have a 14-day refund window. Details in the Terms.

Open source

Everything that runs on your hardware: the Jellyfin plugin, the relay binary, the device-linking flows, and the auth protocol spec — all AGPL-3.0. The hosted control plane and managed relay network are proprietary.

Yes, that's the point. The published binary matches the source (reproducible build) and the install verifies its signature. Read it on GitHub.

On direct tiers your auth keeps working without us in the path, and the source is AGPL — you can self-host the control plane and relay. You're never trapped on our infrastructure.
